Seneca County Health Department (SCHD) Creates Two New Positions to Help Youth in Seneca County

The Seneca County Health Department has created two new positions within the department to bridge the provider gap in the county for Early Intervention services.

A Speech Language Pathologist and Physical Therapist will hopefully be joining SCHD soon to provide necessary services to youth in the Early Intervention Program in Seneca County. This is an initiative taken by the department to provide needed speech and physical therapy services to youth (birth to 3 years) who qualify for services. Seneca County, like many other counties in New York State, has struggled to connect youth to these services due to a provider shortage.

With the addition of these two new positions, youth in Seneca County will get services on time and reduce the current waitlist for services.

The department is grateful to the Seneca County Board of Supervisors for understanding the needs of families in Seneca County and authorizing the creation of these positions.
